Following on from my post describing how I apply my vinyl Macbook covers, I though I would do a short rundown of how mine have looked throughout my time with them, so here goes…
Yellow- This came first for some reason, even though I’m not a great fan of the colour. Did it as a test and ended up staying on for quite a few months. As you can see, my Wacom tablet also go the treatment.
Red- Probably my favourite so far, purely because it looked so cool. In the end, the logic board died, so I had to sell it, but the person who bought it off me loved the colour
Here I did the outside as well and the Apple logo had a nice red glow.
When I bought my next Macbook, the first thing I did was cover it in Vinyl, hence it’s still in brilliant condition, even after 6 months in India…
Light Grey/ Transparent- This vinyl was actually transparent, with a light grey hue to it, so you couldn’t even really tell it had a cover on. Did well, as it stayed on for almost a year before I removed it.
Blue- This came next! Decided that after months of having a ‘plain’ Macbook, something bright would be good.
Lime Green- After I got bored of Blue, I decided to go for a colour that I had been looking forward to for a long time and in my opinion, it looks pretty sweet, so that’s where it is at the moment. Not sure what I’ll go for next…

Very cool! I love your attention to detail, cutting around the keyboard and even sliding the vinyl down in the inner edges in a clean way. I’m curious about the outer lid.. is the red one the only time you covered the outside? Were the corners tricky to make smooth?
Thank you, glad you like them! The red one was the only time I did it, but it looked very cool. Corners were a bit of a challenge at first but what I did is sort of overpull the vinyl so it stretches around, then cut off the excess. It becomes a bit thinner, but nice and smooth. Pretty easy once you figure it out. Give it a go as I’d be interested in seeing how yours turns out! Good luck with it.
were did you get the covers
